The U.S. government recently stole the assets of NORFED the company behind the Liberty Dollar in an obvious effort to destroy a successful competitor to the Federal Reserve’s worthless debt notes. For those unfamiliar with the Liberty Dollar, it is a private monetary system created by monetary architect Bernard von NotHaus which is fully backed by silver coins. NORFED recently filed a lawsuit against the U.S. Mint after the U.S. Mint made the ridiculous assertion that it was illegal to use the Liberty Dollar. According to the U.S. District’s seizure warrant which was recently posted on the Liberty Dollar web site, the U.S. government seized these assets under the guise of money laundering, mail fraud and wire fraud. Under this premise, each bank that is part of the Federal Reserve should also be raided and their assets seized since the paper receipts they issue is backed by nothing and is an obvious fraud. CNN and Glenn Beck recently aired an inflammatory and misleading piece comparing Ron Paul supporters to terrorists. Mr. Beck’s irresponsible association has already led to impassioned responses from the large, peaceful and growing Ron Paul community, including a call to boycott CNN’s sponsors, and an eloquent response from a former US Marine.
NEW Yorkers who remember Rudy Giuliani as the bullying New York mayor, not as the terminally cheerful “America’s Mayor” cooing to babies in New Hampshire, have always banked on one certainty: his presidential candidacy was so preposterous it would implode before he got anywhere near the White House.
Surely, we reassured ourselves, the all-powerful Republican values enforcers were so highly principled that they would excommunicate him because of his liberal social views, three wives and estranged children. Continue reading »

A Los Angeles jury on Monday awarded $3.2 million to six Nicaraguan farmworkers who had sued Dole Food Co. Inc., arguing they had been rendered sterile some three decades ago by the international corporate giant’s application of a banned pesticide on the plantations where they worked.
Jurors return today to consider whether Dole, and codefendant Dow Chemical Co., should be punished with more monetary damages.
